Gluten Free White Bread (From Scratch)

Making Gluten Free white bread at home is usually the best to make sure you know exactly what is going into your bread. This is a easy and straight forward way to make your own bread and get to eat it hot out of the oven or bread maker!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups White Rice Flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 550 ml water
  • 6 Tablespoons milk powder (or similar such as nut powder)
  • 2 Tablespoons oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 Tablespoons castor sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons xanthan gum
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons instant yeast

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 355°F (180°C)
  2. In a large bowl add all the dry ingredients; I prefer to use a whisk to easily and quickly blend all of the ingredients together
  3. In a separate bowl, add all of the wet ingredients together and blend well
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the large bowl and combine thoroughly
  5. Make a hole in the middle of the large bowl with the dry ingredients and slowly add and fold in the wet ingredients; combine until mixed thoroughly
  6. Pour in a bread tin, cover with cloth, and allow to rise for 1 hour
  7. Once bread has risen, put into the oven
  8. Bake for 35-45 minutes until golden brown on the top and cooked thoroughly; use the toothpick method to check if the bread is cooked/cooked if it comes out clean

Tips

Note: if the inside of your bread isn’t cooking but the top is getting dark, place a piece of aluminum foil over the top to keep it from getting too dark

This is also a versatile bread if you'd like to add fruit, nuts, etc you can do so.
